Women Leading the Way: The Promotions Dept. Recognized as a Top LA Business
Recently nominated as one of Los Angeles' Largest Women's Businesses in the LA Business Journal Awards. Linda Tulchin, President, had the following to say about their recent nomination; “the recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire group, who are supporting our diverse ‘family’ as they forge their way to brighter futures, together”.
More Than Revenue: Building Meaningful Partnerships
Our Founder & President, Linda Tulchin, perfectly captures the essence of this achievement: "This acknowledgment means that we are continuing to move in the right direction as a company and that our hard work on creating meaningful and growing partnerships with our client base is being noticed.
Linda emphasizes a deeper reason at the heart of the growth: bringing value and vision to our client relationships. "The last five years we have focused on what really matters to us, and we have worked to ensure we make all our decisions around those values. This is what has transformed the caliber of service we bring to our clients and ultimately the bottom line. This renewed commitment has fostered new levels of communication with our clients; where we once talked about the ‘what’ and ‘when’ of branded merchandise, we now seek to understand our clients “why”. This allows us to provide better, more values-aligned ideas that deliver on the client’s mission. Promotional marketing is no longer simply about logos and colors but about social statements and impact. Being transparent about our greater values, and our aspirations for a better, brighter future has made all the difference in the solutions we bring to the table.”
With a background in fashion, a young child, and a desire to spend less time flying; Linda Tulchin founded The Promotions Dept. in 1992 out of her pink guest room (Barbie eat your heart out). Described as someone with ‘a fire in her belly’, Linda explains that the business was built as a place to empower people to grow their careers and lives. 30+ years later, many people (mostly women) have grown their success with The Promotions Dept.

WBENC: Why WBENC Matters
This recognition is particularly significant since we hold WBENC (Women's Business Enterprise National Council) certification. WBENC is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned, controlled, and operated by women in the U.S. This certification connects women-owned businesses to a large network of opportunities, builds supplier diversity, and empowers women entrepreneurs.
Women-owned businesses have become a powerful force around the world and especially in the U.S. According to the WIPP Education Institute, women-owned businesses contribute $2.7 trillion to the U.S. economy annually and employ millions of people. Since 2019, there has been a 13.6% increase to 39.1% of women-owned businesses make up all U.S businesses. By supporting WBENC-certified businesses like us, you're not just choosing a great partner – you're actively contributing to economic empowerment and helping build a more inclusive business world.
Looking to the Future
